Students forced to pick heavy ration bags on shoulders

As the nation is celebrating its 72nd year of independence, we all hope that the nation is progressing. But the ground reality is very harsh. A very shocking incident has come into limelight in a High School Dhandhal in Ghordhi district Udhampur. The school teaches that child labour is a crime, but irony is that the same school is making its own students child labourers. The students are forced to pick heavy ration bags that are supplied to school for the mid day meals. The heavy bags weigh approximately 50 kgs. Is it the duty of students to carry these ration bags on their shoulders? Absolutely not! It is not at all the duty of the students to carry these ration bags from the load carriers to the school store. But call it the negligence of school authorities or the lenient rules of the state, no one pays a heed for the poor students. The students have no other option but to carry these bags on their tender shoulders.
While talking to the locals of the nearby area, they said that they have seen this thing happening many times, but no one cares.
This matter was reported to CEO Udhampur Jattu Ram. He has assured for a complete and transparent enquiry in this matter and said that the people who forced students to do this work will be punished as per law.
