Message for the Women Folk, “ Know yourself, know your powers, you are no less, for strong nation , women should be stronger”.
Meenakshi Kotwal is Assistant Medical Superintendent, SMGS Hospital. Her confidence and knowledge of her own field is tremendous. She was born in Badherwah and later did her schooling from Jammu, then her MBBS from GMC Jammu. She has worked in many places in J&K like Tikri, Chenani, Bhadarwah, Kistwar etc.
She feels lucky to be born in a family with supportive parents and siblings. Not only from maternal side but her in-laws have been supportive. She thanks her family, her husband and in-laws to be supportive. She thinks that every woman can achieve her dreams if her family is supportive. She thinks that every person should work selfless. The word “I” should be replaced by “we”.
For her work is worship. She thinks that if one start taking the workplace as the religious place then no one will do anything wrong in his work place. She herself thinks that for her workplace is just like temple. So she tries to help others as much as possible.
As far as Women Empowerment is concerned, she says that SMGS Hospital always encourages the lady staff. Women in the hospital are encouraged to help the other women, the whole team of hospital works very hard for its betterment and development. She is passionate for her work. Work comes first for her. She wants to be recognized by her working nothing else.
She wants to fight for the rights of women. She thinks that are many NGO’s for women but most of them are in urban areas, rural areas women are still suffering. She strongly recommends education for women. She thinks that education can empower each and every women of India.
