Students at JU facing difficulties, as DDE closed down many PG courses

Though Jammu University is committed to provide the education for all in every part of the state and with that motive, Directorate of Distance education (DDE) was formulated, but this time, the students are facing many hardships as the DDE has closed down many PG courses.
Pertinent to mention here that the Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu has closed down four study centres in the recent days, which is not good sign for the students, who are opting for higher education through DDE.
This is very unfortunate decision taken by the JU administration due to which the students belonging to far flung areas aspiring to seek higher education through the mode of distance education have already been victimized by the University authority by closing down post graduate courses of Political Science, Economics, M. Ed and B Ed and visibly no effort seems to have been made to retrieve these courses bringing down the sagging reputation of University of Jammu. The students further informed that the four learner’s support centres were opened at Billawar, Ramnagar, Ramban and Samba in different degree colleges for the facility of students of these districts, but these centres have been closed by the incumbent Director DDE.
The students also informed that the Coordinator of these centres Dr Jaspal Singh never visited these centres even once and it appears both Director DDE and Coordinator learner’s support centres Dr Jaspal is hand in glove to shut down these centres due to their negligence and inept handling to run these centres.
The Directorate of Distance Education under its Director is playing with the academic future of students and is failed to take cognizance of the problems of innocent students of far flung area nor has any action been taken against these delinquent officers.
