Message from Renu Bala to public in general: “Labour who has registered with department and whose cards not renewed should renew their cards to avail govt. benefits , last date is 20th July. Women are excelling in every field. Every woman should accept another woman”.
Renu Bala Saini works as Asst Labour Commissioner. She is passionate to help people. While talking to her about her past and her passions, she has many things to say. She belongs to defense family. Her father was in Airforce so she has lived in many cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Nasik etc. Her schooling has been from KV. She has experienced different environments, different friends. She feels that living in defense environment makes one aware of all the festivals of India. Her graduation was from Mumbai and PG from Maratha college Pune.
She was selected as JSA and worked as worked as JSA for 4-5 years, then she got selected as labour officer and worked in court in circle 4. She qualified PSC departmental exam in the year 2013 as Asst. Labour Commissioner. She has worked in Udhampur for some time, this year in the month of March she joined Jammu.
As her current work is with public dealing, she thinks that lot of patience is required. Many people get emotional while getting relief cheques. She says that while delivering cheques many heart touching moments happen. Her main motive of life is to help the people.
While talking about Child labour, she says that it is difficult to search in homes unless there is search warrant. If a minor is found working as household, he/she is rescued.
Renu has a very important message for the labour of any type, she says that if a Construction labour(plumber, electrician, mazdoor, mistri etc. ) who is registered, gets killed during work, his kin can get upto Rs 4 Lac compensation. There institute has collaboration with LIC to give compensation to registered labour. But if the labour gets natural death then his kin can get upto Rs 2 Lac compensation. If any registered labour suffers from any chronic disease, or if his kin has any chronic disease, then next to kin gets Rs 1 Lac compensation.
