Abdul Haq inaugurates bridge at Bangi Nowgam

The Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq today inaugurated a steel girder bridge here at Bangi Nowgam in Anantnag.

On the occasion, DDC Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik, Director Rural Development Gazanfar Ali, SSP Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Khan, besides, the ACD, BDOs, engineers of RDD and others were present.

“Connecting Bangi Nowgam with Ashajipora-Mirbazar road was the commitment made by the former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the Department has completed it in a record time of 13 working months,” said the Minister.

The 1× 40m span bridge has been constructed by the Rural Development Department at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.41 crore. It is the first bridge of 40 metres span constructed by the Department in the district.

Meanwhile, the Minister directed the ACD to speed up the works taken during the current financial year.

People, present on the occasion, thanked the Minister for providing the connectivity to the area in a record time.

Earlier, the Minister chaired a review meeting of the officers at Khanabal regarding the implementation of direction passed by the Chief Minister during her outreach programme and the DDB decisions pertaining to the Rural Development Department.
