Govt focused on expanding enhanced basic amenities across Basholi: Lal Singh

Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh on Saturday said that focus of the Government is to enhance basic amenities like drinking water, un-interrupted power supply, road connectivity and education and in this regard Government has prepared a comprehensive plan to meet the development related issues of the general masses.
Minister said this while addressing a large gathering at Baira village of Basholi after inaugurating the upgradation work of Kardoh-Basholi morh road, here today.
Chief Conservator of Forests Farooq Gillani, Director SFRI BM Sharma, Managing Director SFC Suresh Gupta, Director Environment and Remote Sensing OP Sharma, Regional Director PCB Ch Showkat Ali, Regional Director Wildlife Sinthil Kumar besides senior officers of PHE, R&B, PDD and RDD accompanied the Minister.
The Minister said that government’s priority is to make availability of basic amenities in every nook and corner of the state. He said he is committed to provide all updated basic facilities to the Basohli villages and said there is no constraint of funds under PHE, RDD, R&B, PDD, Education and Health sectors.
Choudhary Lal Singh also visited the sites of ongoing developing works in interiors of Basholi constituency where various deputations of Sabar, Baira and Kuya villages met him and projected their development related issues particularly adequate supply of drinking water and seeking an early redressal of the same.
The Minister resolved several issues on the spot and asked the PHE officers to lay water supply pipes and install hand pumps in the water scarcity areas
Choudhary Lal Singh said that road connectivity to the far-off areas of the Basholi constituency under PMGSY is the top priority of the present Government adding that this facility would provide inter-district and intra regional trade thus improving the socio-economic condition of the weaker sections of the society.
The Minister said that several flagship programmes have been launched by the State and Central Governments to upgrade the living status of the Basholi constituency people. He said district administration has been directed to meet the fixed targets in a time bound manner and utilize the earmarked funds for current fiscal in full.
Responding to the locals demand, the Minister asked the DFO Kathua to plant saplings along the roadside near army cantonment near Basholi morh.
