As dengue cases are being reported from different areas of the Jammu region, people are moving dengue patients to Punjab and Delhi for better treatment.
In Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, more than 300 patients have tested positive for dengue and the number is swelling with each day. The outbreak is most exceedingly terrible in the peripherals of by Jammu, lack of blood testing facilities have put the situation worse and required test for dengue fever are not accessible.
Various hospitals across the Jammu region seem to have failed in dealing to the issue, therby forcing the patients to go nearby states for treatment. One the main cause is that in most of the cases the reports are either delayed or not matched with GMCH with private laboratories, putting the family of patients in confused state of mind, leaving nowhere he patients are moved to adjacent state of Punjab and Delhi for better treatment.
This comes when just weeks left in moving of the secretariat and different workplaces from Srinagar to the state's winter capital of Jammu and quantity of individuals tried positive for Dengue was significantly more as the figure does exclude those meeting private research facilities.
The health centers in rural areas and border villages are already coping up with lack of facilities and over crowded, so the patients are being shifted to GMCH where almost 320 patients have been found positive, yet people are being forced to leave nearby states.
The outbreak of dengue has created panic with more cases of dengue being reported authorities the concerned health departments have already started awareness campaign and teams at the airport and railway stations have also been alerted.
Talking to Young Bites Dr SS Sambyal said that rise in dengue cases is cycle, wherein the number of patients suffering from this disease increases after few years and stagnant water in many places which allows Dengue mosquitoes to breed is the main cause.
He further added that we should keep our houses and surroundings without stagnant water and put the garbage at the marked places with neat and clean drain.
